For very dry skin, we recommend pairing it with Derma Defense Creamgel at night for optimal nourishment.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Colloidal Oatmeal: An ideal active ingredient derived from oats for sensitive and dry skin, as well as for skin with a compromised barrier. It binds and retains moisture in the skin, thus providing hydrating properties. It offers natural protection against damage caused by UV radiation and photoaging. Thanks to its unique composition of beta-glucans, starches, and phenolic compounds, including flavonoids, it helps soothe irritation and protects the skin from oxidative and environmental stressors. It is biodegradable and allergen-free.
Glycosphingolipids: Plant-derived ceramides isolated from rice that contribute to improving the skin's barrier function, prevent transepidermal water loss, and thus enhance hydration. Because they are structurally similar to the skin's natural lipids, they help maintain moisture and reduce irritation levels. They are especially beneficial for sensitive and aging skin, as they promote soothing and regeneration.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol): Vitamin E is a lipophilic antioxidant found in human skin, and its concentration is the highest among all fat-soluble vitamins. It first accumulates in the sebaceous glands and reaches the skin's surface as part of sebum. Oily skin has higher levels of vitamin E, while dry skin contains less. It is an important antioxidant that prevents lipid oxidation, binds moisture in the stratum corneum, supports wound healing, and contributes to protecting the skin against UV radiation. It also smooths the skin's texture. Vitamin E is very well tolerated and non-irritating, even at higher concentrations.
It is an important active ingredient for dry and aging skin, as its levels decrease with age.
Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract: Extract from the plant C. Asiatica, known for its therapeutic effects on skin conditions, particularly for treating or alleviating acne, burns, atopic dermatitis, and wounds. It contains triterpenes such as asiaticoside, madecassoside, and their aglycones—asiatic acid and madecassic acid. Asiatic acid exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and other beneficial properties.
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate: Extract from licorice root, which shows pharmacological properties due to the presence of glycyrrhizin and glycyrrhizic acid. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is a secondary product of glycyrrhizic acid and has antiallergic, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory effects similar to corticosteroids—but without side effects such as skin allergic reactions. On a cellular level, DPG can inhibit the enzyme hyaluronidase and thereby prevent the degradation of the extracellular matrix, the release of histamine, and inflammatory chemical mediators such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins. It also supports epidermal regeneration, increasing its thickness, which is important for wound healing and for reducing transepidermal water loss.
Bakuchiol: An oil extracted from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia (the Babchi plant), combining traditional knowledge with modern biotechnology. Bakuchiol also has soothing properties that help calm the skin and minimize issues related to sensitivity and reactivity. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps fight signs of aging, such as fine lines and loss of firmness, by targeting free radicals.
Ceramides NP: Naturally occurring components of the skin's structure, whose production decreases with age. They play many important roles, such as preventing transepidermal water loss, supporting the skin barrier, and improving skin condition. They also have soothing properties, helping to calm inflammation. Therefore, they are an essential component in products for dry and sensitive skin.
Sodium Hyaluronate: Hyaluronic acid with a medium molecular weight of 1500–2000 kDa. In human tissue, hyaluronic acid is an essential component of the extracellular matrix. It binds water and serves as a natural moisturizer. Due to its medium molecular weight, it fills in wrinkles and exhibits anti-inflammatory properties. It cannot penetrate deeper skin layers but helps minimize the appearance of wrinkles. It helps retain moisture in the skin and forms a light, non-occlusive film on the surface.
APPLICATION
Apply to clean, toned skin on the face and neck. We recommend cleansing with Magic Jelly-Milk Oleo Cleanser and toning with Redneskin PhytoActive Toner.
⚠️ This emulsion does not contain SPF – during the day, pair it with your favorite sunscreen or try EVY SPF 50.
